Leeds United have reportedly discussed signing Fulham goalkeeper Marek Rodak, among others, and he is a player that Scott Parker loves – judging by his praise of the Slovakia international in 2020, after a draw with Derby County.
Rodak, 26, joined Fulham in 2019 from Rotherham. His time at Craven Cottage has been up and down. Rodak has been a key member of the 19-20 side, and the 21-22 side that saw Fulham gain promotion to the Premier League.
But, when Fulham have got into the Premier League after both promotions – he has been relegated to the club’s second-choice goalkeeper. Last season, Bernd Leno was signed by Arsenal. Rodak managed just seven outings.
FLW state that Rotherham’s Viktor Johansson is the club’s first-choice option for a new goalkeeper signing in the coming weeks. But, that Leeds have internally discussed Rodak – as well as Freddie Woodman and Karl Darlow.
Speaking about Rodak while his manager at Fulham during the 2019-20 season, Parker was full of praise after a 1-1 draw in which Wayne Rooney scored a penalty. Rodak’s display came after making a couple of mistakes beforehand.
“He’s got good character, he’s got something about him – a good mentality. He was disappointed to make mistakes last week, I knew today that he would perform. That’s what we’re used to seeing. Full credit to him,” Parker told SS.

Of course, Parker is one of the three names being linked with the manager’s role at Leeds. TalkSPORT state he has been interviewed. The preference among fans would be either Daniel Farke or Patrick Vieira. We will wait and see.
If Parker does join, Leeds need a goalkeeper and Rodak would be a very solid signing. Indeed, his contract with the Cottagers is set to enter its final year – and he will be open to a move given he warmed the bench during 2022-23.
