TalkSPORT claim Leeds United have opened talks with Scott Parker over becoming the club’s next manager despite the ex-England international being linked with a move to Leicester City – as the search for a new gaffer continues.
Parker, 42, remains out of a job after leaving Bournemouth at the beginning of last season despite guiding the club back into the Premier League. A move to Club Brugge failed, ending after little over two months and just 12 games.
The former Tottenham, Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham midfielder is one of the names being touted around the vacant jobs at the moment. He has won promotion with Fulham and Bournemouth in his short managerial career.
The report claims that Leeds have now acted on their initial links with the 18-time England star, by opening talks to hire the manager. Leeds are considering Brendan Rodgers and Daniel Farke, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay.

It is an appointment that would hardly excite fans given the links with Rodgers. But, Parker’s CV – if you ignore his ill-fated spell in Belgium – is impressive. Already, he has two promotions from the Championship. He could be perfect.
But, you would expect Leeds to go after the likes of Rodgers and Farke before turning to Parker. Hopefully for us and indeed the club in terms of summer planning, a manager is appointing this week so things can get started.
Parker would be a good fit. A young, energetic manager that is passionate on the sidelines and good in the media. But, whether or not it energises the fanbase ahead of a promotion tilt back to the top tier does remain to be seen.
