Leeds United will consider making a move for one 11-goal midfielder this summer should Daniel Farke’s men manage to get across the line in the promotion race this season.
Leeds, of course, went into the international break top of the Championship table. Obviously, there are going to be plenty of twists still to come. But on current form, the Whites are well-placed to book an immediate return to the Premier League.
Hopefully, we manage to keep our quartet of outstanding midfielders whatever happens. But it would also be good to see Leeds look to add another option in the middle of the park, particularly one who can have more of an impact in the final third.
None of Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev or Glen Kamara have scored in the Championship this season. Meanwhile, Archie Gray saw his strike against Leicester City go down as an own goal.
Leeds could bid for £25m midfielder if promoted
So it is encouraging that reports from Give Me Sport are claiming that Leeds could decide to make a move for Matt O’Riley if we do achieve promotion.
O’Riley is wanted by the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth after another outstanding season with Celtic. The Denmark international has scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions this term.

Leeds made a move for O’Riley last summer. But the Hoops now want at least £25 million for the 23-year-old. So it is no surprise that our chances of making a move will initially depend on whether we go up or not.
Give Me Sport notes that Brendan Rodgers has previously labelled O’Riley a ‘wonderful’ footballer. And clearly, there are likely to be opportunities to move to the Premier League whether we are back at English football’s top table or not.
Signing Glen Kamara from one of the Scottish Premiership giants has proved to be a masterstroke. Perhaps Leeds could look to Glasgow again for one of their key signings this coming summer too.
