Leeds United were linked with a move for Aberdeen star Duk in the summer after a wonderful 2022-23 term, and landing Aberdeen’s head of recruitment Jordan Miles could see us go back in for Duk.

Joining Aberdeen in the summer of 2022, 23-year-old Duk scored 18 goals in 43 games for the Dons last term. The Mirror’s Darren Witcoop said Leeds and Southampton scouts watched him in August.

Duk has openly admitted in the past that he is using Aberdeen and the Scottish Premiership as a spring board to get to the Premier League, or the Championship. It is unclear if he remains a target at Leeds.

But, news this week could suggest that Leeds are preparing to strike a move for the Cape Verde star. Indeed, The Record says Leeds are now ‘expected’ to raid Aberdeen for their head of recruitment.

Jordan Miles only moved to Pittodrie in the summer from West Ham. But Leeds are looking to bring him to Elland Road, alongside Nick Hammond who is staying until next summer – and Gretar Steinsson.

Leeds landing Jordan Miles could see us go back in for Duk

The report claims Leeds are looking to get Miles in at Elland Road before January, with Aberdeen set to receive a compensation fee for his services. But it could be a move that sets Leeds up to land Duk.

Leeds might need to bring in a striker if the likes of Patrick Bamford, Joe Gelhardt or Mateo Joseph feel they need a move away from the club in January. Duk would be a super replacement in the final third.

Described as “sensational” by Scottish media last season, he would give us another option out wide but naturally, a striker that can drop deep. A bit of everything. Miles on board helps a deal for Duk get done.
