Leeds United can feel proud of their efforts despite losing 3-2 to Chelsea in the FA Cup last night.

The Whites ran their Premier League opposition all the way with Conor Gallagher’s 90th minute goal the only thing that separated the two sides, after a really well matched affair.

Mateo Joseph had given Leeds the lead on the night with his first ever goal for the club, before Nicolas Jackson and Mykhaylo Mudryk then put the hosts ahead before the break.

Joseph then netted his second of the game on the hour mark, but it was Chelsea who went through to the next round thanks to Gallagher’s late goal.

Despite being on the losing side, ITV commentator Lee Dixon handed the Man of the Match award to Leeds star Archie Gray, claiming that he outshone £200m+ duo Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

He said: ” Playing against £200 million worth of midfield player I think he has been outstanding, so I’m going to give it to Archie Gray.”

Gray was simply superb at Stamford Bridge and will have done little to deter football’s elite from taking a look at him, with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham already having been mentioned.

The 17-year-old just never seems fazed with what he comes up against and it was his dribble on the edge of his own box that started Leeds’ move for Joseph’s second of the game.

Great uncle Eddie stated before the match that Gray would perform even better for Leeds when moved to central midfield, and he certainly showed that, despite impressing at right-back all season.

Farke now certainly has a decision to make as to whether he keeps Gray in central midfield, or reverts back to the league setup, when Leeds face Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
