Journalist shares £2.2m man’s stance on potential Leeds move after Fabrizio Romano update

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Edouard Michut is ‘open-minded’ about a potential move to Leeds United this summer.

That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who provided an update on Leeds’ pursuit of Michut to Give Me Sport after the Whites’ interest became apparent earlier this week.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Leeds are among a host of clubs keen on signing the 20-year-old, with PSG’s asking price seen as key to whether interest will be firmed up.

Michut spent last season on loan in the Championship at Sunderland, who were keen on making his move to the Stadium of Light permanent for £2.2m.

However, Michut opted to turn down a move to the Black Cats and has now return to PSG for pre-season training under Luis Enrique, who does not reportedly see him in his plans.

Jones provides update on Leeds’ pursuit of Michut

Given Michut has already rejected Sunderland, his interest in a move back to the Championship is unclear, though Jones says he would be open to a move due to Leeds’ style of play.

“Michut would offer something a bit different to Leeds and he is open-minded about the move as it could fit his style of play.

“He could have stayed at Sunderland but he wasn’t getting on the ball enough and at Leeds, a side we have to expect will dominate games, would give him more opportunity to get on the ball and make things happen.”

Michut is a very technical midfielder and would give Leeds an extra bit of quality on the ball to slot in alongside the likes of Tyler Adams and Ethan Ampadu.

However, there are question marks over his physicality and whether Leeds need a midfielder of his age profile, with Darko Gyabi, Lewis Bate and Archie Gray all pushing for first team football.
