Leeds United loanee Joe Gelhardt got off to the perfect start for Hull City on his home debut with a brilliant finish.
Gelhardt made his mark for the Tigers on the 84th-minute mark against QPR with a delightful dipping volley last Tuesday night.
The 22-year-old was out of favour at Leeds as Daniel Farke said Gelhardt needed game time prompting his move to Leeds’ Yorkshire rivals.
Gelhardt was excited to play for Hull as the striker could prove his worth to Farke and after that sublime finish, the Leeds boss will surely be keeping his eye out.
Before he made the loan move, the young striker was already a fan of Ruben Selles’ side.

Leeds had an enthralling 3-3 draw with Hull which Farke’s side should really have won on the basis of how the game went.
Selles’ side have struggled in the Championship this season, but play surprisingly fluid football considering their circumstances.

Before he had even made the move, Gelhart was invested in the project at Hull.
Speaking to HullLive, the Leeds striker said: “When I saw the game against Leeds from the bench, I saw how good Hull (City) were and we were saying (in the dressing room) how are they in the bottom three, it doesn’t make any sense, they’re a good team?
“Once I’ve seen the style of play and the manager and how he likes to play, I thought it suited me, so my agent was in contact with Hull and Leeds, and he just let me know, and then since that, I’ve always wanted to come to Hull. It was just about Leeds letting me go; that was the delay.”

Gelhardt move to Hull could come back to bite Farke at Leeds
Gelhardt did have some chances at Leeds so it wasn’t a case at all that Farke didn’t incorporate the striker into his side.
The striker didn’t contribute last season, but his last loan spell at Sunderland proved to be successful which could pave the way for him now at Hull.
His performance against QPR may lead Farke to question his decision to loan the striker with a permanent deal as a potential decision further down the line.

Despite being a striker, Selles thinks Gelhardt is a winger and that proved evident on Tuesday night, which is something Farke may live to regret.
