It has been a difficult period in Jack Harrison’s career with the Leeds United winger back on loan at Everton for a second successive season, having been dropped in the past few weeks.
Harrison, after five years at Leeds having initially joined on loan in the summer of 2018 in Marcelo Bielsa’s first summer, left Leeds last summer as one of eight players using Victor Orta’s relegation release clause.
Since then, Robin Koch, Luis Sinisterra, Marc Roca and Diego Llorente have been sold permanently while Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson are back at Leeds. Rasmus Kristensen and Harrison are on loan again.
The duo saw the relegation clause re-activate in the most-recent window and off they went, Harrison back at Everton and Kristensen swapping Roma for Koch’s Frankfurt. He’s shining, but Harrison is struggling.

Wednesday saw Sean Dyche’s struggling Everton produce a stunning display to beat fellow strugglers Wolves 4-0. Harrison though, has been taken out of starting XI in the last five Premier League matches.
It is now nine months since Harrison last scored a Premier League goal, against Tottenham in February. On Wednesday night, he was given the last 20 minutes and had a real chance to end his goal drought.
But he fluffed his lines on not one, but two occasions. The Liverpool Echo gave Harrison a rating of 6/10 and described his outing as “lively”, but that he messed up his opportunity to find the back of the net.
“Lively showing off the bench but made a mess of a late shot that went high into the Gwladys Street when Lindstrom put a chance on a plate for him and then another when fed by Broja,” The Echo reported.
What are chances Everton complete permanent Harrison signing
Having been forced to loan Harrison out a second time in the summer, Leeds will be well aware that the winger has not future at Elland Road. They will have been hoping he shines and earns Leeds some cash.
However, Leeds are now concerned that Harrison will not be picked up by Everton. Certainly, Everton fans are not convinced by Harrison following his latest outing, with Harrison’s Leeds deal expiring in 2028.
So, what happens next? Well, Harrison will remain at Everton during the 2024-24 season and the chances are that – based on current form – he will return and Leeds will be left with an unsellable commodity.
