‘It will come’… New Leeds United player insists he is still not at his best yet

Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara believes he has still not found his best form at Elland Road yet.

Kamara was speaking on the latest episode of the Official Leeds United Podcast, where he was asked about whether he feels he has reached his best since his summer arrival.

The 28-year-old was Leeds’ penultimate signing of the summer as he joined in a £5 million deal from Rangers in the final 48 hours of the window.

Having been frozen out and not been involved at all during pre-season at Rangers, Daniel Farke made sure to bed Kamara in slowly but surely at Leeds. He played just nine minutes in his first few weeks.

However, since his first start against Watford on September 23, he has gone from strength to strength with his performances, including a man of the match display in last week’s win at Leicester City.

Kamara says he has more to show at Leeds

Reflecting on his start to life at Leeds, Kamara still feels he has even more to offer as he continues to find his ‘rhythm’ after a terrible pre-season.

He said: “Yeah definitely, I think it will come with rhythm in time. I had a bad pre-season in itself and I feel like I am now getting back to myself.

“I am playing a bit more games than I have been over the last year or so. I am feeling better now, and fitter.”

Considering how good he was last week at Leicester, it is a menacing prospect for the rest of the division if he still feels he has a few more gears to go.

Leeds and Kamara will not come up against a better midfield all season than the Foxes, yet he out shone every player on the pitch with his strength and calmness in possession.

His partnership with Ethan Ampadu seems to be getting better by the week and so the stronger that gets, the better Leeds will be.
