Sky Sports pundit Jobi McAnuff has hailed the performance of Glen Kamara in Leeds United’s win at Leicester City.
McAnuff was speaking live on Sky Sports at full-time of Leeds’ 1-0 victory at the King Power Stadium, in which he reserved special praise for the performance of Kamara.
Leeds entered the game facing a side who were full of confidence after nine successive victories, and 13 wins from their opening 14 Championship matches.
However, Leeds were able to match them for almost the entirety of the game, as Georginio Rutter came up with the winning goal as he tapped home from close range following Sam Byram’s header.
While Rutter and Illan Meslier will get much of the praise for their contributions this evening, Kamara was handed Sky’s man of the match award, in what was his best display of the season.
McAnuff hails performance of Kamara in Leeds win
Speaking after the game, McAnuff believes Kamara is quickly beginning to become the unsung hero of this team, praising his ‘energy and aggressiveness’ in midfield.
He said: “Absolutely. Particular tonight in terms of his energy and aggressiveness and the way he breaks things up and gets them playing again. Ampadu alongside him, again fantastic. They have a real nice blend in there.
“A physicality that you have to have at this level week in week out and he has brought there. We spoke about Gray and how good he was earlier in the season.
“He [Kamara] has had to bide his time to get his opportunity and what you want as a manager is when you give them a chance they go and take it and he certainly has done that. I thought he was incredibly impressive tonight.”

Kamara has gradually got better and better since his arrival from Leeds but there is no doubt last night was his best performance in a white shirt.
The 28-year-old just never seemed to be under pressure whenever he had the ball, despite the intense nature of the home side’s pressing.
Having arrived from Rangers for £5 million, he is quickly looking like yet another steal in what was a superb summer transfer window.
