‘I’m sure’: Sky Sports pundit says Premier League clubs will want to sign Leeds United player in January

Matt Murray believes Premier League clubs will be ‘looking’ at Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville in January.

Murray was speaking on Sky Sports’ Gillette Soccer Saturday where he was providing coverage of Leeds’ 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town, in which Summerville was once again the star of the show.

Summerville has been in electric form over the last few weeks and his display at the weekend moved him up to six goals and four assists for the season.

The 21-year-old, Dan James and Georginio Rutter all terrorised the Huddersfield defence in the first half, as Leeds raced into a 4-0 lead by half-time.

Summerville was involved in all four of Leeds’ goals, assisting two, and scoring a further two of his own, as he built on his match winning display against Norwich City the previous weekend.

Murray says PL clubs will want Summerville

When describing Summerville’s second goal of the game, Murray hailed his performance as ‘absolutely brilliant’ and is expecting Premier League clubs to be showing interest.

He said: “Rutter down the left-hand side, absolutely brilliant, drives in, gets his head up, plays the ball to Summerville, he twists, he turns, he’s got players around him, no mistake again, drives the ball into the back of the net. I heard all that chat about Neto, leave him at Wolves, but I’m sure there might be some Premier League clubs looking at Summerville because he’s been absolutely brilliant.”

There is no doubt Premier League clubs will be taking notice of what Summerville is doing this season, but hopefully Leeds will fend off any interest in key players in January.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Leeds rejected a £20 million bid from Burnley for him on deadline day and so clearly their valuation of the Dutchman is high.

Leeds should be looking to reject any offers in the winter window, but if they do fail to get promoted this season, it is hard to see him staying for another year in the Championship. On current form, that is fair enough.
