Leeds United were made to fight for their 3-1 comeback victory over Leicester City on Friday.
The Whites managed to stay in the game by the skin of their teeth in the second half as Stephy Mavididi and Patson Daka were both guilty of missing big opportunities, and were made to pay.
Despite creating some good chances in the first half, Leeds were well below the best for much of the match, with a number of key players enduring some off-nights just when it wasn’t needed.
Georginio Rutter, for 80 minutes, was one of those who fell under that category but seemingly grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck to help Leeds earn a remarkable three points.
Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds after the game, Neil Redfearn cannot believe just how much energy Rutter is able to put into games every single week even when not at his best.
Redfearn amazed at Rutter work rate
He said: “That desire to get over the line and like I said before, certain players carry those traits and Rutter has got it in abundance. I watch this guy and I just don’t know where he gets his energy from, he plays at a really high tempo every game.
“I don’t know what they are feeding him but he just produces all sorts of performances. He must’ve been hyper as a kid, he must’ve never slept because he just runs his socks off.”

Rutter has been far from his best in the last two games yet has made massive contributions in helping Leeds win three points on both occasions.
Leicester were able to mark Rutter out of the game and with that, came frequent losses of possession. However, he kept going and ultimately played a big part in all three goals.
It was his dart into the box that led to Connor Roberts pouncing on a loose ball to equalise, his pass for Archie Gray’s winner, and his slaloming run that won the free-kick for the third. It is why you cannot take him off when the game is still there to be won.
