Leeds United have been linked with a move for former Spurs striker Troy Parrott, who’s just capped a whirlwind season with AZ Alkmaar.
Troy Parrott is one of the many players linked with Leeds United so far this summer, in what could be a very busy but very exciting summer for all involved at Elland Road.
The former Spurs youngster, now 23, has scored 20 goals in all competitions after joining the Dutch club on a permanent basis from Spurs last summer, with AZ reportedly paying £6.7million to sign the striker.
Leeds United are now showing an interest in Parrott who has previously endured some tough loan spells in England with the likes of Millwall, Ipswich Town, MK Dons, and Preston North End.
Daniel Farke looks determined to bolster his frontline this summer with the Whites having been linked with a number of strikers along with Parrott, including the likes of Everton striker Beto, whilst Jamie Vardy is linked with Leeds United too.

Troy Parrott speaks out on AZ future amid links to Leeds United
After AZ concluded their 2024/25 season with a 3-2 win over FC Twente on Saturday, Parrott spoke out on his future with the club, making it clear that he intends to stay with the club but also suggesting that his future might not lie in his hands.
Parrott told ESPN: “Whatever happens, it’s not going to be my decision… If someone asked me now, I would say I want to stay. I’ve had the best year of my life in football so far. I’ve loved every second of it.” Parrott later added: “I am focused. In my mind I will be here next season. I am ready to go again.”
This summer, Leeds United have £100million to spend on new players and so Parrott would take up a large chunk of Farke’s summer transfer kitty. And it could be risky given Parrott’s poor record when playing in England, and his lack of Premier League experience too.
Leeds United respond when told how much Troy Parrott will cost
A deal for Parrott to move to Elland Road appears to be picking up speed with reports that Leeds have now responded to AZ’s price tag for the hotshot striker.
It’s been claimed that AZ want £25million to sell Parrott this summer which would make him a club record player sale. But Leeds United aren’t willing to pay that much for him and want to sign him for much less.
So it seems like both clubs might already be at an impasse, and with Parrott openly admitting that he wants to stay at the club, it might prove to be a waste of time for Farke to spend so much money on a player who doesn’t want to join.
We might well see this link quickly die out after Parrott’s latest comments on his future with AZ.
