Every time Leeds United suffer a defeat, there is a group of supporters that call for Daniel Farke’s head and after Wednesday night, they were out in full force once again.
A disappointing loss to Millwall saw Leeds produce a performance that will have reminded Leeds fans of last season’s struggles. On numerous occasions, Leeds failed to perform away from home, under lights.
Millwall had three 1-0 wins in a row before Wednesday night and while Leeds started well, Millwall sprung a sucker blow on Farke’s men on 40 minutes. Jake Cooper’s header was prodded in by Japhet Tanganga.
Farke has come in for criticism for a number of reasons. It took the German until 72 minutes to make any kind of change, and when he did he opted to take off Joe Rothwell – the set-piece taker, and playmaker.

Dom Matteo shares if Daniel Farke is the right man for Leeds
Some other fans could not believe it took Farke until the 80th minute to bring on Mateo Joseph, while it was a poor night for Brenden Aaronson yet Farke chose to keep him on the pitch for the entire match.
Speaking ahead of the defeat to Millwall on Leeds’ Matchday Live show, Leeds icon Dominic Matteo says Farke is the right man for the Leeds dugout and even thinks the German has improved from last season.
“I’ve been so impressed since he’s got here. Very intelligent. When there’s a weakness he sorts it quick. We’ve been critical, if he makes a call quick enough, but he’s not scared and this season he has done.”
Is Daniel Farke’s job in doubt and who could replace him?
If you listen to the football forums after a Leeds defeat, there are so many supporters that want to see the back of Farke. But Leeds have lost just two league games of 14 this season, against Burnley and Millwall.
Two sides that currently sit in the top six. Bielsa’s side of 2019-20 lost nine games that year and Leeds are on course to finish on a smaller number this time around, even if they did lose to Neil Harris’ Millwall.
But if The 49ers do make a change – who could come in? Well, even this season, West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has been linked with a return. But Farke has the backing of The 49ers and Angus Kinnear.
