‘I expect’… Sky pundit now predicts whether Leeds United will go unbeaten at Elland Road this season

Leeds United are the only side across the whole of the EFL to still be unbeaten at home this season.

The Whites‘ record was given arguably its sternest test yet on Friday against Leicester City as the Foxes led from the 15th minute right up until the 80th, missing a hatful of opportunities in that time.

But Leeds refused to let that go without a fight and once Connor Roberts found an equaliser out of no where, the game was only going one way, with Daniel Farke’s side going onto complete a superb 3-1 win.

Leeds have now accumulated 43 points from their 17 matches at Elland Road this season, winning 13 of the last 14 having been held to draws in each of their opening three games.

Speaking on Sky Sports this morning, pundit Andy Hinchcliffe says he now expects Leeds to go unbeaten for the rest of the season on home soil, and is currently very impressed with the balance of the team.

Hinchcliffe makes unbeaten Leeds prediction

He said: “The way they are playing, the dominance of games, not just winning, but deserving to win games too. You look at their performance data, expected goals, every single game they are ahead. The only one was Leicester but they won it in the final 10 minutes, in a very different way.

“They are dominating home and away and I expect them to go unbeaten at Elland Road. The balance of their performances is superb with Gray and Ampadu going into the back four from midfield, and Gruev and Kamara into central midfield.

“The team actually looks better balanced now than it was previously so everything looks right for Leeds. Of course, Daniel Farke has experience of getting teams promoted and knows about the pressure at the top of the table, their form and position in the league is well deserved.”

Leicester was undoubtedly the toughest of Leeds’ home matches remaining considering their highly impressive away record, though there are still some difficult tests to come.

Leeds still need to host both Hull City and Sunderland, with fellow automatic promotion hopefuls Southampton, of course, the visitors to West Yorkshire on the final day of the season.

However, regardless of whether Leeds go unbeaten or not, it has been a long time since they have genuinely been able to call Elland Road a fortress and so credit to Farke, and the players.
