It was Danny Batth that popped up to score a late equaliser for Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday as Leeds United failed to hold on to all three points at Elland Road.
Leeds had won three in a row going into the game, and were on an incredible running streak at Elland Road but they both came to an end as John Eustace proved to be a thorn in Daniel Farke’s side again.
Still, a solid point for Leeds against clearly, their bogey team as results went Leeds’ way on Wednesday. Stoke held Burnley to a point at Turf Moor and Sheffield United were beaten by Sunderland on Wearside.
Leeds then, remain three points ahead at the top of the Championship table. It could have been five had Pascal Struijk’s penalty proved to be the winner, but 34-year-old Batth was on hand to nab a point.

Leeds then, are best-positioned to go on and win promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the second time of asking. A win against Hull on Saturday will cap a brilliant Christmas period.
Speaking to Blackburn’s website after scoring a late goal for Blackburn at Elland Road, veteran defender Batth said Leeds’ home is the toughest place to go in the Championship at the current moment.
“It’s been a quick turnaround. With the amount of work the lads put into the game, at the toughest place in the league to come to, we had to be bang at it to get anything. The draw was the least we deserved.”
