Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claim Napoli winger Hirving Lozano has chosen his next club amid reports that Leeds United were keen on a move – with the Mexican agreeing a move to MLS champions LAFC this summer.
Lozano, 28, is in the final year of his contract. Despite playing 41 times for Napoli last term, the Serie A champions were keen to offload him. According to W Deportes, Leeds – along with Stoke and Everton – have held Lozano talks.
A report from Mexican outlet El Portal Deportivo said that Everton had even made an offer for Lozano – but that the winger was unconvinced by the Toffees, given their recent scraps with relegation. He wanted to challenge for titles.
Leeds always seemed unlikely and that has now proven to be the case. GDS claim he is set to join Giorgio Chiellini’s LAFC, where he will almost replace Gareth Bale after his retirement. There is still a few terms to be ironed out.
GDS say LAFC are offering a fee of £12.9m for Lozano, while Napoli wants £17.2m – but there is a confidence a fee can be agreed. Lozano is set to fly to America on Napoli’s say so, and sign a three-year £91k-a-week contract.

Leeds were never going to sign Lozano. The only chance of a move would have been if Leeds were in the Premier League – and a loan deal was on the cards. His deal at Napoli ends next June, meaning there was no chance of that.
A move to Everton seemed more likely on a permanent basis and if the Toffees had moved for the Mexico star, it might have lessened their interest in Willy Gnonto. But instead, Lozano is off to the MLS with LAFC this summer.
