Max Wober has claimed a conversation with Daniel Farke in the summer convinced him to leave Leeds United.
Wober was speaking to Rheinische Post on his move from Leeds to Borussia Monchengladbach in July, in which he still insists was a ‘difficult decision’.
The 25-year-old was among several members of last season’s first team squad to leave Leeds on loan following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

It had been reported that Wober had told Leeds he was willing to stay having only joined from Red Bull Salzburg in January, until an approach from Monchengladbach changed his mind.
Wober made his exit from Leeds a matter of weeks after Farke was appointed as manager, with the 46-year-old having incidentally been sacked by Gladbach just a couple of months earlier.
Wober shares Farke conversation ahead of Leeds exit
In this latest interview from Wober, he explained how a conversation with Farke helped him make the decision that a move to the Bundesliga side would be best for his career.
He said: “It was very difficult for me because I felt very comfortable there and had already built up a certain status in the club – even though we were relegated. Then there were discussions with both Leeds and Gladbach, for me it was simply crucial that I could play at the highest level.

“We (him and Farke) were completely open on both sides. I immediately told Mr. Farke that there was contact with Gladbach and that I would probably like to do that. He told me a little about his experiences. He objectively listed things that were great and things that he would have changed. It was a good conversation to form an opinion.”
It has arguably been a blessing in disguise that Wober has gone as it has allowed Pascal Struijk to return to his natural position and therefore his best form.
Wober has not been missed at all really and hopefully Gladbach decide to make his move permanent next summer, even if their start to the season has not been a good one.
