Max Wober has told Leeds United he wants to stay at the club despite relegation to the Championship.
That is according to Leeds Live, who report Wober has made it clear to the bosses at Elland Road he is keen to stick around and fight for an immediate promotion back to the Premier League.
Wober only joined Leeds in January earlier this year in a deal worth around £10 million, following in the footsteps of Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen from Red Bull Salzburg.

Unlike those two, however, Wober looks likely to stay at Leeds with San Francisco 49ers Enterprises keen to keep him, and the 25-year-old happy to do so.
Aaronson and Kristensen, meanwhile, appear to be on their way to Union Berlin and AS Roma respectively, though there is still work to be done on the latter’s deal.
Wober tells Leeds he wants to stay this season
Wober established himself as somewhat of a fan favourite after his move from Austria with some highly promising performances in central defence during his first few weeks at the club.
The 16-time capped Austria international is prepared to throw himself at anything with his displays against Brenford, Manchester United and Wolves particular highlights.

However, after going on international duty in March, Wober picked up a hamstring injury in a 4-1 win over Azerbaijan and upon his return to Leeds, struggled to regain his best form from then on.
Providing no major interest materialises in him and he gets his wish of staying, he will undoubtedly be a huge asset in the Championship.
If Leeds can bring in a strong left-back, a new right-sided centre back to partner him and keep Cody Drameh, the defence is already looking like a marked improvement from last season.
