Former Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara could now be looking to put a dent in the Whites’ promotion hopes, by joining one of their top six rivals in the Championship.
Glen Kamara had a fleeting season at Elland Road last time round, joining Leeds United from Rangers in the summer of 2023 but leaving for Rennes in the summer of 2024.
Leeds United paid around £5million to sign Kamara from Rangers. And the Finnish international certainly put in a shift featuring 40 times in the Championship.
But he failed to really blow anyone away. Leeds sold Kamara to Rennes as part of their big summer overhaul, with Kamara having since featuring 13 times for the Ligue 1 club.
It’s also been reported that Illan Meslier could join Kamara at Rennes with the French outfit eyeing up a January move for the Leeds shot-stopper, who is also wanted by Arsenal.
But Kamara could now be on his way back to England and back to the top of the Championship table.

Sunderland eyeing January deal for former Leeds United man Glen Kamara
An emerging report from French outlet Jeunes Footeux has revealed that Sunderland are looking to sign a defensive midfielder on loan in January, and that the Black Cats have made checks on Kamara.
Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has a good knowledge of the French top tier having managed there before arriving at the Stadium of Light during the summer.
The report states that a Sunderland move for Kamara is not ‘concrete’ with the 29-year-old still a part of Rennes’ plans, albeit playing a bit part role.
Kamara hasn’t started a game for Rennes since the end of November, featuring twice as a substitute in his side’s last four games.

What Glen Kamara said about his Leeds United exit
Speaking earlier in the season, Kamara revealed how he felt about leaving Leeds United after just one season with the club.
He explained how his sole season in West Yorkshire was ‘bitter sweet’ after Leeds fell short in the play-off final against Southampton.
Kamara said: “It was bitter-sweet leaving Leeds. We were very close to going up. We probably should have gone up automatically. It was a tough one to take, losing in the play-off final.
“I was only there for a year, so moving so soon was a bit of a weird one, but things just happen quickly in football and you have to be ready.”
Now, Kamara could eventually be pat of another play-off push should he join Sunderland, who sit in 4th place of the Championship table compared to Leeds in 2nd, with only two points between the two teams.
