Leeds United cruised to a 4-0 win over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, as the Whites go seven wins from seven in the Championship – and Georginio Rutter likened one player to Zinedine Zidane.
Leeds came into the game in stunning form and that run continued, netting a seventh consecutive win but also six clean sheets in that run – and still unbeaten since the turn of the year. Leeds are red hot.
Crysencio Summerville got the help of a deflection to open the scoring, after good work from Georginio Rutter – earning praise from Gary Rowett. The second came from Joel Piroe, against his former side.
Then, a brace form the newly-rejuvenated Gnonto – the first a neat finish at Carl Rushworth’s near post with his left – and then in the second half, across Rushworth with his right foot. He has five goals, now.
Conditions were damp, and players might have been forgiven for misplacing passes more than usual. Glen Kamara, though, completed 65 of 68 passes (WhoScored). Alongside Ilia Gruev, they were superb.

Ilia Gruev was stunning too, landing 88 of 91 passes and making four tackles. But Kamara did it perhaps where it more dangerous to lose the ball, in that slightly more advanced no.6 position, ahead of Gruev.
The win, the performance, the result – all made even more perfect thanks to Southampton’s loss over at Bristol City. Daniel Farke commented on the Saints loss, stating Leeds focus on themselves, not others.
But he has to say that – and he will be delighted that Leeds have clawed back three points on their rivals for the top two. Rutter was delighted last night – and heaped praise on Kamara, on his Instagram story.
