Ethan Ampadu produced another stunning display in what was his 25th appearance for the club since joining Leeds United in the summer – and he earned praise from Liam Cooper and Joel Piroe.
Ampadu, 23, has been crucial since joining. Daniel Farke‘s first signing in the summer, a £7m addition in the summer, the Wales star has played every single minute for Leeds this season. Another, 90 minutes.
It comes after there had been some question marks regarding his form and perhaps, his lack of fitness. Daniel Farke even said that while a bad display from Ampadu is still 7/10, his passing could be better.
But Ampadu rubbished fears that he had been playing too much and needed a rest in the week – and Farke did so, too. On Saturday, his performance suggested he was at 100%, starring in the middle.
Three tackle, two interceptions, 85% successful attempted passes. A key pass, and a rating of 7.39 as per WhoScored. Ampadu posted on Instagram after the 4-0 win over Ipswich, which was a key win.
Ethan Ampadu praised by Leeds duo Liam Cooper and Joel Piroe
There were some wonderful performances on Saturday. The combination of Illan Meslier, Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk – the latter scoring – to keep a clean sheet, deserves praise. We dominated the midfield.
In attack, ruthless. Archie Gray and Djed Spence out wide, incredible. Piroe and Crysencio Summerville, both on the score sheet again. Leeds were as good as we have been all season, since Farke arrived.
Among those to praise Ampadu on Instagram, included Leeds duo Piroe and Cooper – the latter calling Ampadu a “general”. Tottenham ace and Ampadu’s Wales teammate Brennan Johnson also commented.
