Willy Gnonto’s future at Leeds is always a talking point and with the January window underway, it is likely that clubs will be linked – and two new names from the Premier League could now make a bid.
Gnonto, 20, has lost his place in the Leeds side this season. It comes after joining the club 18 months ago under Jesse Marsch, from Swiss side Zurich. He made a quick impression, eight goals and assists.
But this season, he has managed just one goal and an assist for Leeds in 22 outings – most of which have come from the bench. That is because Cree Summerville and Dan James are currently first choice.
Reports in December said we had given Gnonto the ‘green light’ to leave. Roma, Lazio and Fiorentina are all interested, while Everton are said to have been in talks to sign the Italian ace for a number of weeks.
A fee of £13m required. Now, a report from Dean Jones on Sports Lens claims that Fulham are showing interest in Gnonto – as are West Ham. Jones says West Ham could make an enquiry in the ‘coming days’.

It comes as no surprise that Gnonto has interest in him but from Fulham and West Ham, is a bit of a surprise. Everton is not, given how strongly they have been linked with the Italian speed machine.
But for Fulham and West Ham to show interest is a surprise. A move to London would surely appeal to Gnonto, especially given both clubs are not in a fight against the drop. His contract ends in 2027.
Reports say £13m but that is surely too cheap, even if he has not played much. If Leeds can get close to £20m or above that figure, then we have to let him go. Especially, to a side that aren’t in England.
