Leeds United could lose Angus Kinnear as news has emerged he’s in talks to become Everton’s new CEO.

It’s a sudden announcement that Leeds fans might not have expected, but Kinnear’s eight-year-long post at Elland Road is under threat.

Joining the Whites in 2017, the Leeds CEO has made some good decisions, but also very questionable ones.

Kinnear talked to Daniel Farke throughout January showing that he’s communicated very well in his time with the club.

So he has positives and negatives, but Everton fans have already come to a verdict regarding the CEO.

Everton fans react to Angus Kinnear as Leeds United exit looms

It has been suggested Kinnear would be interested in the Everton job with all signs pointing to the 49ers needing to make moves.

However, despite his fairly strong reputation at Leeds, Everton fans aren’t too pleased with the news following the Whites fanbase’s comments over his tenure.

@BT_1878 said on X: “Leeds absolutely made up he’s going by the sound of it.”

@nothinkbuttheb1 suggested: “It’s alright. Stay where you are.”

Many Evertonians see it as a downgrade from their current interim CEO Colin Chung, and Leeds fans might have put ideas in their head about what Kinnear would be like.

“Leeds fans don’t like him, could be a bad appointment this,” @EvertonF1878 explained.

@Bradielka__ bluntly put: “This is so uninspiring.”

@Leafeyboi mentioned Chung’s current position saying: “What a shocking change this would be from our current CEO.”

Leeds must act quickly with Kinnear’s exit likely

Despite Kinnear having different opinions about him, it’s fair to say he’s done a decent job on the whole at Leeds.

His communication is top, as Kinnear shares boardroom updates at Leeds which could be something to look forward to for Everton.

The main element a CEO needs is a clear line of communication, and Kinnear has that in abundance, now it’s up to the 49ers to find the right replacement.

Although nothing is set in stone, if Paraag Marathe wants to prove how well he acts in these situations, a shortlist should be drawn up as we speak.

It would be a risky move for Leeds to enter a potential Premier League season without a CEO, but remember it might take time as it’s not been a problem for eight years.
