Leeds United will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Stoke City when they host Huddersfield Town tomorrow.
The two sides both enter the first West Yorkshire derby in over three-and-a-half-years on the back of disappointing midweek defeats, and so will be eager to put it right.
Leeds lost further ground on the top two on Wednesday as they were beaten 1-0 by Stoke at the bet365 Stadium, conceding from a late corner just minutes after Patrick Bamford’s missed penalty.
Huddersfield, meanwhile, endured a dreadful evening on Tuesday night in front of their own supporters as they were dismantled 4-0 by Cardiff City.
Since Neil Warnock’s departure, Town have been inconsistent under new boss Darren Moore, and the trip to Elland Road could arguably be their toughest test yet.
Prutton predicts Leeds win over Huddersfield
Writing in his latest EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, David Prutton has predicted Leeds to come out on top and comfortably bounce back at the first attempt.
The former Whites midfielder has tipped Leeds to run out 2-0 winners, a scoreline which would be much needed after such a disappointing night at Stoke earlier this week.
On paper, Leeds should have far too much for Huddersfield but as Wednesday proved, nothing is a guarantee in this league and Daniel Farke’s side can’t afford many off-days like that.
The Terriers are looking to play more expansively under Moore and in theory, that should play into Leeds’ hands with the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter ready to cause chaos on the counter.
It is absolutely paramount Leeds come away with maximum points from this game with a trip to high-flying Leicester City to come next Friday night.
