David Prutton now predicts the score when Leeds United host Preston North End tomorrow

David Prutton has shared his prediction for Leeds United’s clash with Preston North End tomorrow lunchtime.

The Whites will be looking to make it three Championship wins in a row having beaten both Birmingham City and Cardiff City 3-0 in their last two matches since the turn of the New Year.

It could be a big weekend for Leeds with two of the three sides ahead of them in the table coming up against each other on Monday night, as Ipswich Town make the trip to Leicester City.

Leeds will need a much improved showing from the one that saw them beaten 2-1 by PNE less than a month ago on Boxing Day, though they do still remain unbeaten at Elland Road.

Writing in his latest EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, Prutton has backed Leeds to continue their recent momentum and come away with a comfortable three points tomorrow.

He said: “Things are looking a little rosier for Leeds now after back-to-back wins. It is great to see Patrick Bamford back in the goals after some of his difficulties in the last couple of years. We know how good he can be, and he’ll be a real asset as we approach the business end of the season.

“Preston took a great win against Bristol City last time out – albeit the Robins may have had one eye on their replay with West Ham – and need to build on that if they are to push on back towards the top six. Elland Road isn’t an ideal trip to try and build momentum, though. Home win. Leeds 2-0 PNE.“

Prutton is certainly right about the form of Bamford, whose first start of the season against Birmingham City has enabled him to go on a run of three goals in as many matches.

He offers something different to any of Leeds’ other attacking players due to his ability to get in behind, and it has made an impact on the Whites’ ability to beat deep defensive lines.

Prutton is not the only pundit to have backed Leeds to secure all three points on Sunday, with both Gary Neville and Ian Wright also having done so as well.
