Five points clear of Sheffield United, seven points clear of the play-off positions and 16 Championship games unbeaten – Leeds United are in a fantastic position to secure promotion.

Monday night’s 3-1 comeback win has seen Daniel Farke’s Leeds put one hand not only on promotion, but on the Championship trophy. The possibility of a third Championship title for the German manager.

With 12 games left to play and 36 points up for grabs, Leeds are five wins away from securing the magical 90-point mark. It wasn’t enough last season, but it has been enough for promotion every other year.

The Whites have now played all of their three automatic promotion rivals home and away, and the run-in looks kind. But there are still 12 games to play, so are Leeds up? Darren Bent has given his verdict.

Darren Bent says if he thinks Leeds United are now promoted

Following the win, plenty have had their say. Ally McCoist believes Leeds will now be promoted while Troy Deeney has predicted Leeds could confirm promotion in four weeks. Bent has been more conservative.

Speaking to TalkSPORT in a clip posted on the radio station’s YouTube channel, former England striker Bent – who played a large part of his career in the Championship – thinks it is likely Leeds will now go up.

“Seven points ahead of third now, I think that might be it. Unless they fall off a cliff, they have 12 games left to go, they have a goal difference of +50 – unless they fall off a cliff, they’re up,” Bent said on Tuesday.

Predicting Leeds United’s four games before international break

There are four games to play before Leeds wave goodbye to their international players. The Whites take on West Brom at Elland Road, the toughest of their remaining 12 games judging by league position.

Then, Portsmouth, Millwall and QPR before the break comes into play. At this moment in time, Leeds will feel that they could beat anyone and there’s nothing to suggest they won’t stay unbeaten until May.

Another 10 points from the next four games would see Leeds go incredibly close to securing promotion. Not to mention, Burnley and Sheffield United go head to head in the remaining 12 games.
