Former Premier League striker Darren Bent remains unconvinced about Daniel Farke’s Leeds United future, despite their victory against Chelsea.
Daniel Farke sent an emphatic message to the Leeds ownership with his side’s win over Chelsea, amid growing pressure over his future.
Reports in the build-up to the game suggested that Gary O’Neill was being lined up to replace Farke after a run of four consecutive defeats saw Leeds slip into the Premier League relegation zone.
Despite Leeds’ win, subsequent reports suggested that the 49ers have not made a decision on Farke’s future and continue to assess their options for a potential replacement should they elect to part company with the German.
Now, former Premier League striker Bent has suggested that it will take more than one win to convince the Leeds fans, in a worrying verdict on Farke.

Speaking on TalkSport Drive on the afternoon of 4th December, Bent explained why he does not believe Farke is safe in his job.
According to Bent, Leeds’ recent run of form, combined with Farke’s previous track record in the Premier League, means he has work to do to win over the doubters at Elland Road.
Asked whether he believed Leeds’ win over Chelsea would silence Farke’s critics, Bent said: “No, not really. I think it’s a huge result. Fair play to Daniel Farke because he got promoted with Norwich, terrible, and went back down.
“Now he’s got back there with Leeds, they’re struggling. They’ve got a couple of good results, but are struggling. That result, of course, will please the fans and the owners and supporters and, yeah, it’s a feel-good factor. But it’s how do Leeds back that up?
“Because they’ve beaten Chelsea, fair play. Now we’ve got Liverpool. Liverpool’s the next one they’ve got. That’s at home. You never know, then Brentford away. But I still don’t think their supporters are convinced. One result can’t convince you that he’s the right man.

Following the win over Chelsea, a Guardian report had suggested that Farke would lose his job at Leeds if the Whites lost both of their games against the Blues and Liverpool, which now cannot happen.
If Farke can secure another against-the-odds win against the Reds at Elland Road, the German would surely have killed off any suggestion that he should be replaced by the 49ers, for the short term at least.

Consistency has been a problem for Leeds this season. Farke’s side have picked up just one point from the three games after victories this season, which came in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
Wins over Everton and West Ham were followed by damaging defeats against Arsenal and Brighton, respectively. If Farke can avoid a repeat of this trend, he will be able to sit a little bit more comfortably in the hot seat at Elland Road.
