Danny Rohl makes claim about Daniel Farke after Leeds United’s 3-0 win vs Sheffield Wednesday

Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship table with a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road, but the scoreline suggests the game was a lot more comfortable than it really was.

An early goal from Manor Solomon on just three minutes was eventually followed by a superb strike from Largie Ramazani after coming on as a sub. A moment of genius from Ao Tanaka saw Leeds net a third.

An important win for Leeds, after The Whites had dropped points against Blackburn and Hull City in their previous two Championship games. A clean sheet will also do under-fire Illan Meslier the world of good.

But it was hardly a 3-0 win. Leeds had to come under plenty of pressure from Sheffield Wednesday, who had been in good form under the highly-rated Danny Rohl. The latter spoke about Leeds after the game.

Danny Rohl delivers Leeds United and Daniel Farke verdict

Much like Farke, Rohl entered the coaching world in his home nation as an assistant with Leipzig, Bayern Munich and the Germany National Team before taking over as Wednesday boss midway through 23-24.

He has quickly grown an excellent reputation after a year at Wednesday and is widely expected to move on in due course. Speaking after his side’s 3-0 loss, he was complimentary of both Leeds and Farke.

“Harsh scoreline? It was a good game from both. At the end you look at the score. There was a time in the first half we dominated the ball. Congrats to Leeds, I wish them all the best. Daniel is doing a good job.”

What does the Championship table look like after Leeds win?

Leeds are back on top after a 16th win of the Championship season, accumulating 56 points from 27 games and sitting pretty. Sheffield United’s 2-0 win over Norwich means they are now above Burnley.

Scott Parker’s men had started the weekend in second but they and Sunderland could only manage a 0-0 draw, despite Sunderland having two penalties through Wilson Isidor – both saved by James Trafford.

So, Leeds are one clear of Sheffield United, three ahead of Burnley and there is now a five-point gap between The Whites and Sunderland. Things are looking promising ahead of Norwich on Wednesday.
