Leeds United fans are desperate to watch their side not only exact revenge on Burnley come Monday night, but take advantage of an excellent string of results in The Whites’ push for promotion.
With Leeds and Burnley doing battle on Monday night, Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United had the chance to pile the pressure on Daniel Farke’s men with a win against Hull on Friday but instead, Hull won 3-0.
A shock result that has pulled Ruben Selles’ side out of the relegation zone, for now. For Sheffield United, it is a huge blow in Chris Wilder’s pursuit for a top two given Leeds could open up a gap come Monday.
Wilder thinks the race for promotion is still wide open, but Regis Le Bris described the Championship as “tough” after watching his Sunderland side pegged back by Plymouth Argyle to draw 2-2 on Saturday.

A Leeds win is momentous, but Daniel Farke form is not good
Burnley came to Elland Road earlier in the season and a Manor Solomon slip saw Luca Koleosho run the entire Leeds half before finishing past Illan Meslier. It would be the only goal of the game, a Leeds loss.
Leeds have only lost two more games this season, while Burnley have only conceded nine goals in their 28 league games. An incredible record that would inject fear into possibly, some Premier League sides.
Leeds want revenge, but also the chance to go four above Sheffield United and six above Burnley. But, if they are to do so, then it would see Daniel Farke do something he has not been able to do as a manager.
And that is, to win a league game against Burnley…

Daniel Farke’s five previous meetings against Burnley as a boss
Farke has met Burnley five times. Four with Norwich City and once with Leeds – winning once while at Norwich. He also lost two and drew another before losing his only game against The Clarets with Leeds.
But the only win against Scott Parker’s men came against back in January 2020, an FA Cup fourth-round win with Norwich. Farke has never managed to record a league win against Burnley in four attempts.
Farke’s five career games vs Burnley:
| Date | Club | Competition | Venue | Result |
| September 21, 2019 | Norwich | Premier League | Turf Moor | 2-0 loss |
| January 25, 2020 | Norwich | FA Cup | Turf Moor | 2-1 win |
| July 18, 2020 | Norwich | Premier League | Carrow Road | 2-0 loss |
| October 2, 2021 | Norwich | Premier League | Turf Moor | 0-0 draw |
| September14, 2024 | Leeds | Championship | Elland Road | 1-0 loss |
For the sake of Leeds fans, the battle for promotion, the club’s financial future and so much more, here is hoping that Farke will be able to break that duck come Monday night when Leeds go to Turf Moor.
