Leeds United have gone through serious change this summer under Daniel Farke, with numerous exits and 10 new additions to the first-team.
Rasmus Kristensen left Leeds United permanently alongside Sam Greenwood, and both Junior Firpo and Josuha Guilavogui were released with Patrick Bamford. On top of that, Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell saw their loans expire.
Darko Gyabi left on a free transfer and Max Wober, Largie Ramazani, Joe Gelhardt, Isaac Schmidt, Mateo Joseph, and Charlie Crew have sealed loans for the season. It was a busy summer as a newly-promoted side.
Paraag Marathe confirmed Leeds’ need for sales but only two were forthcoming from the first-team, albeit there were also some sales from the U-21 team as well.

Diogo Monteiro’s Leeds tribute on Instagram
Diogo Monteiro has had a better international career than his Leeds one, with the Swiss-born Portuguese youth international captaining various age groups already.
The 20-year-old spent two-and-a-half seasons at Leeds. In fact, Monteiro starred for Leeds’ U-21 team in the National League Cup. His side won the competition in 2024/25.
Now, he is no longer a Leeds player, having never made a senior appearance at Elland Road. Instead, Monteiro completed a move to FC Arouca in Portugal’s top flight last summer.
Monteiro has not featured for Arouca yet, but he clearly has a lot of affection for Leeds remaining after his stint. He left in August, but the 2025/26 kit made its way to Portugal with the youngster.

Spotted playing padel in the international break last night, Monteiro is seen on his Instagram story in the 2025/26 blue away strip.

Since Monteiro’s departure, who are Leeds’ centre-backs in the U-21 team?
Although ordinarily a central midfielder of some description in his senior career, Jonny Howson has been utilised as a centre-back for the U-21 team.
Alfie Cresswell has also operated there, with Reuben Lopota-White stepping up since Monteiro’s departure as well.
New signing Louis Enahoro-Marcus also features there. He arrived from Liverpool in the summer transfer window. Cresswell, brother of Charlie, has been the primary captain of the team too.
Leeds are light on options there, but Monteiro could not turn down the opportunity to play first-team football in a top flight league.
