Daniel Farke gives positive Brenden Aaronson update
Leeds could start in a 4-3-3 formation against Swansea, and Brenden Aaronson will be part of the first team, according to Farke.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder was on duty with the USA national football team during the international break. Aaronson did not play against Jamaica in the first leg due to illness.
Aaronson made a cameo appearance for the USA against Jamaica in the second leg, and Farke is pleased that the former Red Bull Salzburg star was not heavily involved.
Farke said about Aaronson on Leeds Live: “Brenden had small illness while he was away, but he is back and okay. Beneficial for him to miss that first game.”
Brenden Aaronson’s season in stats
Aaronson was not part of the Leeds team last season. The American was on loan at Union Berlin.
Many expected Aaronson to leave Leeds last summer, but the attacking midfielder stayed at Elland Road and is now one of the first names on Farke’s teamsheet.
Farke has deployed Aaronson in a central attacking midfield role this season. The playmaker has scored four goals and given one assist in 13 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship. He played 63 minutes in the Carabao Cup as well.
For Leeds to finish in the top two of the Championship table this season and win automatic promotion to the Premier League, Aaronson has to maintain his good form throughout the season.
