Daniel Farke was asked if Leeds United produced their best performance of the season last night.

The Whites eased a to a rampant 4-0 win over Swansea City having raced into a two goal lead inside the opening 10 minutes through Crysencio Summerville and Joel Piroe – the latter on his first return to South Wales.

Willy Gnonto then rounded off proceedings with a goal either side of half-time to extend his excellent recent run of form, moving Leeds into the top two positions for the first time at the end of a game week all season.

Last night was Leeds’ joint highest margin of victory all season having also defeated Ipswich Town by the same scoreline back in December.

Leeds just looked so comfortable throughout and speaking in his post-match press conference, Farke believes it was ‘one of the most’ well executed performances of the season.

Farke on whether Leeds produced their best performance

“The most disciplined and executed in how we wanted to play. More or less exactly how we wanted to play. All the praise to the players. One of the most spot-on executions of the game plans this season.”

Leeds’ away form during the December period was really poor so it is good to see they have put that behind them with three wins in a row since the turn of the New Year.

It has to be said that Swansea played right into Leeds’ hands last night with how open and high they were, but that is not taking anything away from how Farke’s side punished them.

Leeds are the best counter-attacking team in the Championship according to many and so leaving that sort of space for the likes of Georginio Rutter, Summerville and Gnonto was a big mistake.

Hopefully Leeds can extend their 100 per cent start to the calendar year of 2024 on Saturday before hosting league leaders Leicester City next weekend.
