Daniel Farke puts six Leeds youngsters into his first-team for in-house friendly with one scoring

Daniel Farke’s Leeds United ran out 3-0 winners over Michael Skubala’s Lincoln City in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday, with Farke calling up six youngsters to his side.

Pre-season is well underway at Thorp Arch and The Whites are set to jet off to Germany this weekend, after facing Harrogate Town on Friday before returning to face Valencia at Elland Road on August 3.

But Tuesday saw Leeds’ senior side, U21 team and U18’s in action. The second string and the 18’s went north of the border to Rangers training base Auchenhowie and secured 1-0 and 3-0 wins in Glasgow.

The first team meanwhile, were in action against Skubala on Tuesday at Thorp Arch. Skubala of course, was in charge for three games at Elland Road during 2022-23 which included a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

Leeds run out 3-0 winners against Skubala’s Lincoln City

Skubala has impressed at League One side Lincoln after taking over in November 2023. A difficult start was followed by an excellent run of form towards the end of the season, Skubala winning 14 of 31 games.

He took his side back to his old club on Tuesday and watched Farke’s men run out 3-0 winners, as Farke included six youngsters in his side. The Yorkshire Evening Post say one of those six even scored a goal.

Charlie Crew is highly rated at Leeds and was on the bench many times last season. Even earning his first Wales cap, Crew is expected to have an impact in the senior side next season and he scored on Tuesday.

The six youngsters called up by Daniel Farke in win over Lincoln

Crew was one of six youngsters yet to make a senior debut for Leeds that were include by Farke. James Debayo has been included in senior training this summer and he was involved in the 3-0 win over Lincoln.

Sam Chambers, too. Joe Snowdon and Luca Thomas were regulars for the U21’s last season and they were also included in Tuesday’s squad, while Archie Gray’s younger brother Harry also got the call-up.

Still only 15, he is rated incredibly highly at Leeds and the teenager also featured for Farke’s men at Thorp Arch as Leeds got their pre-season campaign off to a flyer with a solid 3-0 win ahead of Friday’s opener.
