Leeds player has just rejected a move to league champions after talks in recent days

Leeds United are continuing their summer fire sale with Glen Kamara the latest to leave Elland Road for French side Rennes, and Rasmus Kristensen could be the next out the door.

Kamara becomes the sixth player to be sold after Archie Gray, Marc Roca, Diego Llorente, Kris Klaesson and Charlie Cresswell. Leeds have amassed around £60m in player sales, after Kamara’s move to Rennes.

Four have gone on loan in Sonny Perkins, Jack Harrison, Sam Greenwood and Darko Gyabi, while many have left on a free transfer. Liam Cooper, Jamie Shackleton, Ian Poveda and Cody Drameh to name a few.

Only three new signings have been made so far as The 49ers focus on bringing in cash and making room for new arrivals. Alex Cairns, Joe Rothwell and Joe Rodon are in, while Brenden Aaronson has returned.

The next player to leave Leeds is likely to be Rasmus Kristensen

Reports emerged on Tuesday that German club Eintracht Frankfurt, who have signed Robin Koch on a permanent basis from Leeds, are eyeing a move for Denmark star Kristensen with his Leeds exit inevitable.

Fabrizio Romano said Kristensen was on Frankfurt’s radar this summer. Since then, reports in Kristensen’s home country suggest a move to Frankfurt would be a loan deal, possibly including a permanent option.

Danish outlet Tipsbladet say that Frankfurt are not the only side to have shown interest. Indeed, Danish champions FC Midtjylland are said to have approached Kristensen and even met with the Leeds star.

Kristensen’s response to potential return to boyhood club FCM

Kristensen came through the ranks at Midtjylland and clocked up 82 senior outings before moving to Ajax and a return to the Danish champions is inevitable for Kristensen at some point in the right-back’s career.

However, having met and even spotted with Midtjylland’s director of football Claus Steinlein, Kristensen has chosen to reject a move to Midtjylland this summer with a return to his boyhood side too soon.

The smart move from Kristensen’s perspective given that clubs from Europe’s top-five leagues are still keen on the defender. But this season is key for Kristensen, he must have a good year and settle.
