Daniel Farke has claimed Leeds United could welcome Mateo Joseph and Ian Poveda back into the squad against Sheffield Wednesday.
Farke was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against the Owls, where he provided a mixed update on the injury front.
Joseph has been absent throughout the entirety of the first month of the season after picking up an injury in training between Leeds’ final pre-season game against Hearts, and Championship opener with Cardiff City.

Poveda, meanwhile, has missed Leeds’ last three matches in all competitions but is now back in training and in contention for the clash at Elland Road.
Leeds will be looking to pick up back-to-back league wins for the first time in 10 months when they face the Owls, having defeated Ipswich Town 4-3 in a dramatic encounter last weekend.
Farke says Poveda and Joseph back for Leeds
While Poveda and Joseph could be back in the squad, it is not so good news for £25 million signing Dan James or Sam Byram, who are not expected back until after the international break.
He said: “Mateo Joseph is back in training. He could be a topic for the squad, not for starting line-up. Poveda is back in training too. Apart from that I think we have said Byram will miss a game. Dan James also not available tomorrow.”

With Leeds having lost a few players on loan who were on the bench last week at Ipswich, Joseph and Poveda’s returns are a welcome boost.
Both players looking promising in pre-season and particularly in the case of Poveda, looks as though he could really an impact player from the bench this term.
As for James and Byram, it is important Leeds do not rush them back and hopefully the two-week international break is enough time for them to get back fit for Millwall.
