Daniel Farke on the brink of new record when Leeds United face Nottingham Forest

Leeds United have one more game to play before the November international break, and it comes in the form of a difficult-looking trip to a reinvigorated Nottingham Forest under Sean Dyche.

Forest come into the game having endured a dismal start to the season. Nuno Espirito Santo was axed and Ange Postecoglou was winless during his 39-day stint as manager, before Dyche was given the gig.

A win against Porto in his first game immediately reconnected the Forest crowd with the team. A 2-0 loss at Bournemouth was almost inevitable, but Forest showed fight in a 2-2 comeback against Man United.

Forest are in a better place under Dyche, while Leeds’ away form is a major concern. Four defeats from five games away from Elland Road means Forest are favourites, and Tony Pulis has backed a Forest win.

Daniel Farke will break record if Leeds beat Nottingham Forest

Farke is in need of a win, especially before the November break. A point would also go down well with Leeds fans, who are desperate to see a bit of fight after rolling over so easily away at Brighton last time.

But there is an issue for Farke, and it is that he has never beaten Dyche in a League match. The duo have done battle on four occasions, three times in the League and once in The FA Cup, while with Norwich.

If Farke can mastermind a win at The City Ground, it would see him finally get the better of Dyche in a league game. But it will be a tall order for a Leeds side that have struggled on the road this season.

How Leeds have fared in their past 10 games against Forest

Aside from Dyche and Farke, Leeds and Forest have done battle regularly over the last decade. Whether it be the two sides fighting for promotion, or the two teams attempting to avoid the threat of relegation.

It was Jesse Marsch’s final game, a 1-0 defeat for Leeds at The City Ground. It was one of Jean-Kevin Augustin’s three appearances for Leeds. It reignites the Brian Clough rivalry and Forest have fared better.
