Daniel Farke says he is ‘really happy’ with the impact both Jaidon Anthony and Joe Rodon have made at Leeds United.
Farke was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Leeds’ match with Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night, where he was asked about the role of both.
Rodon had started to string together a good run of performances at Leeds until his red card at Hull City, which saw him suspended for the game against Watford, and only an unused substitute at Southampton.
Anthony, meanwhile, is yet to start since his deadline day move from Bournemouth, coming off the bench to good effect in each of his four matches so far.
Both have extremely positive chances of making the starting XI tomorrow night, as Farke plots some changes following the disappointing defeat at St. Mary’s.
Farke ‘really happy’ with Anthony and Rodon
Speaking ahead of the game, Farke spoke of his delight at how both have performed so far but feels they have room for improvement.
He said: “Really happy with both because it’s never easy to come into a new group. Hard for Jaidon to come in late. Settled in now and really well. Played the first games without being prepared. Done fantastically well. Few clean sheets with Joe.
“More to come from Rodon. The red card, he has to handle the own goal at Ipswich. He can improve. I am totally convinced of his potential as a player, his quality as a player. This is why I was so greedy to bring him in because he makes us better as a group. Pleased with Jaidon. Looked sharp. Good goal. Important to have depth and options.”
It should be a no brainer bringing both into the side tomorrow, with it important that Rodon is re-partnered with Pascal Struijk at the heart of defence to continue their blossoming partnership.
Anthony has also done enough from the bench to warrant a start against QPR, and he should be coming into the XI in place of Dan James.
