Leeds United are back in action after the October break with a massive clash against Burnley, the two sides promoted automatically from the Championship last season.

It will see Leeds go to Turf Moor and face a side that includes an in-form Jaidon Anthony. Last season, Burnley limited Leeds to just one point from their two games, drawing 0-0 at Turf Moor in January.

Leeds are expected to welcome both Willy Gnonto and Lucas Perri back after injuries, but Dan James will be missing. The Wales ace is expected to be sidelined until after the November international break.

Now, the referee has been appointed for Saturday’s enormous clash, the first of four games between the October and November international breaks. Leeds will be confident of securing a result in Lancashire.

Daniel Farke winless in four games with Tim Robinson as referee

Tim Robinson has been given the whistle for Saturday’s clash at Burnley, which will come as bad news for Farke and Leeds. That is because Farke has remained winless in his four Leeds games with Robinson as ref.

The first came in one of Farke’s first games and Joe Rodon’s debut for Leeds, a 1-0 loss to Birmingham in August 2023. Leeds would draw their next three games with Robinson as ref, the first against Sunderland.

A 0-0 draw towards the end of 2023-24. Leeds had Robinson twice as ref last season, the 2-2 draw against Sunderland in which Illan Meslier allowed a loose ball to bobble past him, and then QPR at Loftus Road.

In total, Robinson has reffed 19 Leeds games, the first being a 2-1 win over Yeovil in the Championship back in 2013-14. A game that saw Stephen Warnock curl in a 40-yard free-kick, thanks to the wind.

Other highlights include the 4-0 win over West Brom at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa, in which Pablo Hernandez slammed home an effort inside the first minute. Leeds have won seven times with Robinson.

Interestingly, not a single red card in his 19 Leeds games, 12 without winning. Leeds will be hoping that they can finally produce a win with Farke in the dugout and Robinson in the middle, come Saturday.
