Leeds United manager Daniel Farke delivered his verdict on an “exhausting” week in the Premier League, as he turned his side’s fortunes around.

Daniel Farke was under significant pressure at Leeds heading into their game against Manchester City, with reports suggesting he could lose his job if he lost all three games.

However, after Leeds completed a thrilling comeback against Liverpool, Farke has put any suggestions that he is not the right man to lead the club in their Premier League relegation battle to bed.

Farke made a triple substitution in the second half, which changed the momentum of the game, as Willy Gnonto and Ao Tanaka both played a decisive role in pulling Leeds back into the game.

Now, Farke has admitted that he had endured the most tiring week of his Premier League career, after a dramatic night at Elland Road.

Speaking to Sky Sports immediately after the game, Farke admitted that he had been left exhausted after Leeds’ most challenging run of fixtures to date this season.

However, the Leeds boss was able to take great satisfaction from securing four points from a difficult run of games, which has got his side back on track in their survival hunt.

Asked whether this was one of his best weeks as a Premier League manager, Farke said: “No, one of the most exhausting ones, that’s definitely for sure.

“If you play against Pep, then against Enzo, and today against Arne and all their world-class players and world-class teams, we knew that normally, in terms of quality, we can’t compete with them.

“For that, you have to be always spot-on in what you do in tactical terms, and also which player you play and what you do during the game, and try to surprise them sometimes and change the game a little bit.

“So, yes, of course, it’s joyful after the game to have good results like the other night or also today, but to be honest, I’m happy that this weekend I can spend with coffee and cake on the sofa.”

Little over seven days ago, Farke appeared destined for the exit at Leeds, with reports suggesting that Gary O’Neill was being lined up to replace him.

Now, the Leeds boss has emphatically silenced the critics who called for his head by taking four points from the most difficult run of fixtures to date.

Of course, there is always room for improvement, and Farke will be disappointed by his side’s individual mistakes that meant Leeds had to pull off a miraculous escape, such as Joe Rodon’s “sloppy” pass for the first goal.

However, it is impossible to watch Leeds’ last three games and conclude that the players do not want to fight for their manager. In a relegation battle, that team spirit could be enough to get Leeds over the line.
