Leeds United are back in action this afternoon at the start of another hectic week in their Championship promotion push as they welcome Plymouth Argyle to Elland Road.

Daniel Farke’s side began the weekend sitting third in the table at the start of a week that he hopes will see his side crack the automatic promotion spots, with a trip to Millwall and a home clash against QPR following before the November international break.

Plymouth head up to Elland Road sitting 22nd in the Champions table, with Wayne Rooney’s side the underdogs against a Leeds team that are looking to seal a fourth consecutive home win this afternoon.

Farke has had to prep for this afternoon’s game knowing the right-back Jayden Bogle is suspended, while there were pre-match injury doubts surrounding Dan James and Patrick Bamford.

Farke confirms Leeds United starting XI to face Plymouth

James has won his fitness battle and keeps his place in the starting XI, meaning Farke has made just one enforced chage.

As expected, Farke’s solution to replace Bogle is to reinstate Junior Firpo in the starting XI after the left-back was suspended for the goalless draw at Bristol City last weekend, with his replacement last wekend Sam Byram switching over to the right-hand side of the defence.

Bamford did not make the matchday squad, while there is a return for Max Wober, who is back on the bench after knee surgery.

Given the gulf in position between the two sides in the table, Leeds fans appear to be confident going into the clash.

‘It picks itself,’ one fan posted on X, while others asked the question of when summer signing Isaac Schmidt will be given a proper run out, with Byram getting the nod over the Swiss defender.

‘What does Schmidt have to do?,’ asked one supporter. ‘Why did we buy Schmidt??? If he can’t start in this game when can he????’, pondered another.

Given this is the first of three games in a week, these fans may get their wish if Farke looks to rotate his squad before the international break.
