Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison has told Daniel Farke exactly where he needs to strengthen to secure Leeds United’s Premier League survival.

With the January transfer window now rapidly approaching, Leeds United are already being linked with potential new signings to bolster the squad under Daniel Farke.

Following his recent heroics for Ireland, Leeds have learned the price they would need to pay to sign Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar.

Rising Brazilian star Jhon Jhon is another name that has been linked with Leeds, alongside prolific FC Midtjylland forward Franculino.

Now, Morrison has weighed in on which position Leeds desperately need to strengthen, as they prepare for the return to Premier League action after the international break.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Morrison warned Farke that his squad is still short on goals as the season enters the busy festive period.

According to the former Premier League striker, Leeds need to sign another prolific forward to support Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front, as he believes goals are the key to avoiding relegation.

Morrison said: “If Leeds want to survive, they need to bring in an out-and-out goalscorer that’s going to get them the 10 to 15 goals to keep them in the Premier League, which is going to be difficult.

“Because in the Premier League. You’re only as good as your strikers. But I hope Leeds do stay up because it’s going to be difficult.”

With Leeds still struggling for goals this season and the January transfer window still several weeks away, Farke has a difficult decision to make ahead of the crucial clash against Aston Villa.

Calvert-Lewin dropped to the bench for the damaging defeat against Nottingham Forest after picking up a niggling injury, but his lack of international commitments and his cameo as a substitute at the City Ground suggest he should be fit to return to the Leeds team.

Lukas Nmecha stepped up in Calvert-Lewin’s absence and found the net with a smart finish to open the scoring for the Whites. However, his all-round contribution fell short of Calvert-Lewin’s as Leeds fell to a loss.

Jeff Stelling urged Farke to select Joel Piroe in the build-up to the game, and he could be a wildcard as Farke looks to get his side back to winning ways.
