Championship clubs want Adam Forshaw as midfielder weighs up Leeds United offer

The Mail claims Adam Forshaw has interest in his services from rival Championship clubs and even from some European outfits this summer – following his exit from Leeds United. Forshaw has an offer on the table from Leeds.

Forshaw, 31, saw his contract expire at the end of last season. The ex-Middlesbrough and Brentford star has been offered new terms at Elland Road – but Phil Hay reports the new deal reflects his injury problems at Elland Road.

So, it might be that Forshaw is weighing up his options before agreeing a move back to Leeds. He is not short of interest, with rival Championship clubs also said to be showing interest. That, and other European clubs want him.

The Mail have also said that newly-promoted Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al-Akhdoud want to bring in Forshaw this summer. So, Forshaw has a decision to make with the start of the season just three weeks away, on August 6.

Big decision for Forshaw, then. His form for Leeds towards the end of last season is proof that he is easily good enough for the Championship – and good enough for a Leeds side that should be pushing at the top of the table.

He might not start for Leeds, but he will certainly be a key player. Tyler Adams could stay and Darko Gyabi is likely to come into the starting XI. Ethan Ampadu is about to sign. But having him to call on makes sense for both parties.

However, if Forshaw does get an offer from a club that play nice football and are willing to overlook his injury history then it is understandable why he would be considering offers. Big few days for Forshaw and a decision on his future.
