The Mail claim Adam Forshaw has received an offer from Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al-Akhdoud with the star technically a free agent after his Leeds United contract expired – though Leeds remain in talks with the midfielder.
Forshaw, 31, saw his deal end at Leeds on June 30 despite being arguably our best player towards the end of the 2022-23 campaign. The ex-Everton man was invited back for pre-season, but is yet to appear back at Elland Road.
As the Mail reports, Leeds remain in talks for Forshaw. Phil Hay recently said that there is an offer on the table from Leeds – but it reflects his injury issues since joining the club in January 2018. He has managed just 91 games since.
Now, Forshaw has an offer from Saudi Arabia. It comes in the form of Al-Akhdoud – who have just gained promotion to the top tier. It is now unclear what Forshaw will do, as the start of the new 23-24 season draws closer and closer.

Leeds should be looking to keep Forshaw. Not least, because he is easily good enough to impress in the second tier and remains a quality player at this level. But also, because Leeds are lacking in the middle of the park right now.
Weston McKennie and Marc Roca have gone. Forshaw is not on the books and Tyler Adams is more than likely to go before the end of the window. Leeds are set to sign Ethan Ampadu, easing the strain. Forshaw would be top cover.
A player that knows the place, a first-class attitude and would save the club having to spend money to bring another body to Elland Road. If Leeds can get a deal done, and there is room to compromise – then a deal should be done.
