Sory Kaba has been linked with a whole host of Championship clubs this summer including Leeds United and West Brom – but The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath has reported that Birmingham City have agreed a fee to sign the striker.
Kaba, 28, is on the radar of a number of Championship clubs after his loan at Cardiff City last season. He joined the Welsh side in January and went on to play a key role in keeping Cardiff in the division – scoring eight in 17 games.
UD Las Palmas.Net reported that six Championship clubs – including Cardiff, Watford and Leeds – are keen. Spanish side Las Palmas, promoted to La Liga, also keen. The Express & Star say Carlos Corberan wants him at West Brom.
Now, McGrath has an update. He says the Gambia international could now be off to Birmingham City – the side that beat Leeds 1-0 on the weekend. He says Birmingham have agreed a fee with Midtjylland for the £2m-rated striker.

Kaba is clearly a good striker, that can make things happen out of nothing. To score one goal every two games in a division like the Championship, for a side that ended up in 21st place, is superb. At a better club, he’ll score more.
It is unclear how much he will cost but it is unlikely to be a big amount, given his deal at Midtjylland is due to expire at the end of the current season. Reporter McGrath has reported it is a fee of £2m that is required, in recent weeks.
Is it a blow for Leeds? Leeds just need players. A striker is key. We cannot rely on Patrick Bamford as much as we may want to, and Georginio Rutter is better out wide. Joe Gelhardt is yet to get going. Kaba would be a solid signing.
