Despite two successive draws in the Championship, Leeds United remain top of the Championship table going into this weekend’s fixtures and Premier League promotion looks on the cards.
The Whites sit a point clear of both Burnley and Sheffield United but it should have been a total of five in front, after conceding late against Blackburn before surrendering a two-goal lead against Hull City.
Nevertheless, Leeds and Daniel Farke are well-positioned to go up automatically with 20 Championship games to play. Whether Farke is going to improve the squad in January looks less and less likely.
The Leeds boss continues to state that he is expecting a quiet window. But Leeds continue to be linked with a number of different players despite last summer’s concerns regarding Profit & Sustainability Rules.

Ben Jacobs shares if PSR rules are a concern for Leeds if promoted
Last summer, Leeds cashed in on Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter for a fee north of £100m. There were concerns of PSR last summer but that was instantly wiped out by the three sales.
Pure profit on Gray, huge profit on Summerville given he was bought for £1.3m while Leeds raked in a £40m fee for Rutter which was still a £5m profit. But what about if Leeds go get promoted this season?
Well, Ben Jacobs told The View podcast: “I’m told that Leeds are more comfortable than suggested. One because of the number of outgoings from players who has release clause and two, the RedBull investment. Leeds don’t fear they will be financially restricted if they come up to the Premier League.”
Daniel Farke finally gets chance in the Premier League
Farke secured promotion twice to the Premier League with Norwich City, but the German really struggled in the top tier. A lot of that was down to a lack of backing from Norwich and ultimately, they went down.
In his second crack at the Premier League, he was sacked after three months. If Leeds do go up, it seems Leeds will be in a strong position to go and have a crack at the transfer market thanks to their position.
That leaves Farke with the decisions to make in the transfer market, but at least it sounds like that Leeds will have the tools to provide him with every chance of staying in the Premier League should Leeds go up.
