Daniel Farke embodied most Leeds United fans until Dan James slammed one into the back of the net on 33 minutes, and Aidy White shared what he was doing on the touchline to vent frustration.

Leeds were far from their best on Tuesday night with the Whites probably second best to Stoke in the second half, but thankfully, Leeds held on to a 1-0 win. Another three points, 10 wins form the last 11.

James came back into the side after waiting for his chance and he took it with aplomb. The Wales star is playing with huge confidence and he chose to shoot with little other option – the ball flying into the net.

But, Leeds were sluggish and looked tired on Tuesday night throughout the majority of the game. With the scoreline still reading 0-0 but just before James’ goal, White shared how Farke was getting annoyed.

“Pressure is on Stoke. We’re regaining possession, putting shots in,” White told BBC Radio Leeds during commentary. “Farke is on the sidelines with his hands in the air asking “can we speed this up a bit?”

Unsurprising. Leeds were far from their best. Tiredness is fair at this stage and the hectic schedule, with Leeds playing just three days after the draw at Huddersfield, was always going to catch up with them.

Sheffield Wednesday is bizarrely next on Friday, just 72 hours after tonight’s win. Farke somehow needs to inject some energy into his players because a better display will be needed against the in-form Owls.

Indeed, Ian Poveda’s Wednesday won again on Tuesday night – beating Plymouth 1-0 at Hillsbrough. They have their tails up, and Leeds will need to be at their best to pick up a win away from home.
