Anton Stach’s description of Elland Road is not exaggerated, it is evidence of a stadium that is actively shaping performances as Leeds’ most expensive signing delivers on and off the pitch.
Stach has arguably been Leeds’ best player this season. Along with the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor, Stach has starred in the middle of the park despite injuries.
Speaking to German podcast RTL this week, Stach did not hold back when he said about Elland Road: “First of all, I have to say: huge recommendation to go to Elland Road and watch a match there.
“Under the floodlights, unbelievable. Honestly. Proper goosebumps. And that first game [a 1-0 win over Everton], like you said, was of course the perfect start. The atmosphere was insane.
Is Anton Stach Leeds’ best free-kick taker since Ian Harte? ⚽🔥
Leeds are currently the Premier League's best set-piece takers
“There were moments where I genuinely felt like I had hearing loss on the pitch because it was so loud. I couldn’t even hear myself anymore. The atmosphere is just different. I can’t even properly describe it.
“But everyone lives completely in the moment. Everyone screams together,” Stach continued, describing Leeds’ support. “It’s not like one section is loud while another is quiet and some people are just watching.
“Either everyone is shouting or everyone is silent. And yeah, it definitely did something inside me, especially once we won the game. It was an incredible experience, honestly,” the midfielder summarised.
Stach is backing up the noise with elite output
The midfielder joined from Hoffenheim as a £19.9m signing, a fee that demanded immediate impact. But Leeds saw that straight away, scoring against Milan in Dublin and winning a penalty against Everton.

He has delivered that through 27 appearances with five goals and three assists, alongside 57 tackles, 19 interceptions and 136 duels won, numbers that underline a complete midfield presence.
That form has already led to Stach being called up by Germany in March, placing him firmly in contention ahead of the next major tournament.
It comes despite Julian Nagelsmann publicly stating he is doing well but not exceptionally strong in the air and not top in recoveries either, a view that contrasts sharply with his current output.
Farke’s influence is central to Stach’s rise
Stach has been clear that his development is not happening in isolation, having praised Daniel Farke for trusting him and putting him on the pitch consistently.

He's easily doubled his value this season!
That backing has allowed him to adapt quickly, turning early emotional impact into sustained performance levels that now justify his status as Leeds’ most expensive signing.
Jamie Redknapp recently said that Stach is in with a shout of becoming the signing of the Premier League season thanks to his form in a Leeds shirt. Certainly, Leeds will have to fend off interest this summer.
Elland Road has clearly affected Stach, but the numbers show it is more than emotion, it is performance, progression and proof that Leeds’ environment is elevating him rather than overwhelming him.
