Leeds United are five games into their year-long fight to survive in the Premier League, and things are looking good after a solid win away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
For the first time in the club’s history, three players scored their first goal for the club in the same game. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor and Anton Stach all got their names on the score sheet at Molineux.
A crucial win, compounding misery on Vitor Pereira and Wolves who have now suffered five losses from five. Leeds meanwhile, return to Elland Road for two games ahead of the October international break.
Anton Stach was pivotal for Leeds on Saturday afternoon, as was Gabriel Gudmundsson. The left-back has been among Leeds’ best and most-consistent players, but was in tears after his own goal at Fulham.

Anton Stach hails Gabriel Gudmundsson’s start to the season
Indeed, Gudmundsson suffered the ignominy of one of the most-bizarre own goals the Premier League has seen. Not only was it a crazy own goal, but it came in the 94th minute and saw Leeds suffer defeat.
He was in tears in the dressing room at full-time, but Gudmundsson immediately apologised. At Wolves, he was superb. Stach told Leeds Live he was surprised at how he played as if Fulham hadn’t happened.
“He has a really good season so far. He’s offensively really good. Defensively he works a lot, he suffers. After the last game everybody came to him and it was unlucky. That’s why you have a team in football.
“You need to be there for him. I think in this case we have a really good structure in the club. Everybody is together. Today he [Gudmundsson] played full of confidence like it never happened,” Stach continued.

Leeds United’s best players this season, according to FotMob
It will hardly come as surprising to see Stach near the top of the list. Leeds’ most-expensive signing of the summer at £19.9m from Hoffenheim, Stach got himself a goal and an assist on Saturday afternoon.
But it is Karl Darlow that is currently rated as Leeds’ best player by FotMob, with a rating of 7.73 after his two impressive performances. Lucas Perri is set to be fit again and it will be interesting to see who starts.
| Name | Games (Starts) | FotMob rating |
| 1. Karl Darlow | 2 (2) | 7.73 |
| 2. Anton Stach | 5 (5) | 7.38 |
| 3. Ethan Ampadu | 3 (3) | 7.15 |
| 4. Joe Rodon | 5 (5) | 6.77 |
| 5. Dominic Calvert-Lewin | 3 (2) | 6.76 |
| 6. Noah Okafor | 3 (2) | 6.72 |
| 7. Sean Longstaff | 5 (3) | 6.69 |
| 8. Brenden Aaronson | 5 (2) | 6.66 |
| 9. Pascal Struijk | 5 (5) | 6.66 |
| 10. Gabriel Gudmundsson | 5 (5) | 6.65 |
Dominic Matteo believes Darlow should retain his place, and the stats suggest Darlow should keep his spot in the XI above Perri. Gudmundsson meanwhile, would be higher had he not scored an own goal.
