Angus Kinnear shares positive update on Leeds transfer situation, several incomings ‘anticipated’

Leeds United managing director Angus Kinnear says the club are anticipating a number of signings before the end of the window.

Kinnear made the claim in a meeting with Leeds United’s Supporter Trust earlier this week, who contacted the club to set up a conversation regarding concerns over situation at Elland Road.

Leeds have brought in just four new signings so far this summer following the completion of San Francisco 49ers Enterprises full takeover back in July.

An ‘aggressive’ window had been promised to supporters in the wake of Leeds’ relegation last season, but that has so far failed to materialise.

Alarm bells began to sound even more so on Monday when Jack Harrison became the seventh member of year’s first team squad to complete a loan move away from Leeds.

Kinnear provides promising update on transfer situation at Leeds

Leeds’ exits this summer are a stark contrast to that of fellow relegated clubs Leicester City and Southampton, who have both brought in several millions of pounds in player sales.

With just two weeks left of the window, though, Kinnear provided an extremely promising update in a meeting with LUST, on both incomings and outgoings.

A LUST statement read: “Concerns were put that we are seeing more outgoing than incomings and asked if fans could be re-assured that there are more incomings on the horizon. Currently four players having been signed in this transfer window, with seven having left on loan or permanently, alongside an extensive injury list.

“Angus said that he is still very confident that the squad will be much healthier by the end of this transfer window. A number of incoming players are anticipated, with possibly only one further outgoing amongst first team players (we now assume this to be the transfer of Tyler Adams to Bournemouth).”

Supporter patience has certainly been pushed to the limit this summer but based on this, as well as Daniel Farke’s press conference on Wednesday, the final two weeks of the window should be exciting.

Farke is keen to strengthen almost every outfield position in his squad and it’s clear the club are aligned with that, even if movement to this point, has been slow.
